New Moon @ 9 degrees Aquarius 51'

January ends with a New Moon in tropical Aquarius, technically the first New Moon of 2025. It represents a significant pattern change in the collective psyche that will have some ripples in our personal lives. Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius is stationing direct alongisde this lunation as well as Jupiter (on February 4th). Jupiter also trines the New Moon, a smooth opening to emerging pathways and widening perspectives.

These outer planet stations magnify the shift into new terrain, especially as Venus also moves past Neptune and the Aries Point in the proceeding days. The influx of Aquarius, Uranus, and Jupiter brings an element of something new, a fresh perspective, outlook, and direction is likely to emerge alongside this transition.

Near this lunation, Mercury and Pluto also hold court in the Aquarian sign while Venus and Neptune align in Pisces. There is a strong mixture of mental focus and imagination. A clear view into the truth of things, yet not too clouded by excess logic or reason. The fantasy remains strong under this lunation, but also not too dominant to blind us from the enduring truth of the now. We can integrate reason and intuition more easily.

There is still a haze of the omnious beneath what is emerging, a glimpse of the unconcious and underworld terrain that has dominated our perception the past several weeks, but something new is on its way up, into the light of conscious awareness. The following weeks support more stability and upward rising (at least as is possible in this Saturn-Neptune era), a constructive and supportive view of what's to come. A time to plan and see further ahead than we could before. Yet, also the ability to dream and romanticize with strong discernment.
