December's Full Moon in tropical Gemini reflects both an expansion and challenge to perception. Gemini, ruled by Mercury (who stations direct alongside this Full Moon), is a sign of ideas, their communication, and a logical construction of reality. In Sagittarius, the Sun and stationing Mercury reflect the counterpoint of faith in or desire for the higher truth, which will likely dominate the moment.

Neptune (and Saturn) square the Full Moon can represent overcoming deceptive or confusing obstacles for a more holistic integration of opposing perspectives and points of view. Yet also, they suggest allowing mystery and uncertainty to exist, accepting we can't always believe everything as it presents itself nor rationally explain away every mystery in the world.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction, coming into focus now but most prominantely next year and early 2026, symbolically reflects a lot of things, from a period of collective disillusionment and awakening about structures of power (and their affiliated authorities), global populist unrest, to a challenge to build and work toward a more authentic worldview and ideal of various societal structures. A dramatic challenge and expansion of reality is another major theme of the next few years, happening on a global scale.

This Full Moon can challenge us collectively with glimpses of those dimensions of reality and society we don't yet fully grasp or comprehend, as well as a coming together (into greater focus) of perception or truth we may have been working toward on a more personal level. Paradox and confusion are inevitable manifestations, but so is a broadening curiosity and excitement about what is emerging on the perceptual horizon.

November closes with a New Moon in tropical Sagittarius alongside the confluence of Mercury and Mars retrograde cycles. While Mars' official retrograde station occurs December 6th, it is slowing alongside the start of Mercury's retrograde cycle (that began November 25). Thus, the waxing phase of this lunar cycle (til the Full Moon December 15th) is more supportive of allowing ourselves to step back, revise, and refocus.

The mutual reception of both retrograde Mercury and Jupiter (transiting each other's ruling sign) highlights a theme of altering perception, changing opinions, and integrating conflicting or paradoxical points of view. Certainty and clarity will not be easy to grasp under this lunation, so this is a good time to dig deeper for more information and open ourselves to alternative perspectives.

Taking a more receptive and humble approach to what you know (or think you know) and intentionally challenging yourself to expand your perception will take you much further over the following weeks. Anticipate also some major changes and revisions to plans and perspectives, so approach this lunar cycle with more flexibility, humility, and a willingness to learn something new.

Mars' trine to the New Moon and the lunar North Node indicate that this is a favorable portal through which we can ultimately strengthen and bolster a worldview, ideological orientation, or conception of the truth. Yet, instead of rushing thoughtlessly (or dogmatically) with conviction, take more time to critically and intuitively reflect on the pieces before you, and the picture will eventually become clearer.
